A Strong Delusion
There is a great controversy going on and it seems to have been
going on ever since the Lord Jesus was here. The great controversy is who was Jesus?
Was he the Son of God or was he God. One group of people say he was God and the
other group of people say he was the Son of God, but who was he? First, let’s
look at the topic a strong delusion. What is a strong delusion? A strong delusion is in spite of all the evident
showing that something is a lie you hold to it as if it is true. Jesus said
many would believe in him but it wouldn’t be according to what is written in
the bible.
John 7:38 He that believeth on me (Jesus), “as the scripture
hath said,” out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
That what is written in the Scriptures about Jesus.
1 John 5:9 “If we
receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater:” for this is the
witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.
Let us look at what the men of the bible have said about
Jesus. Here is what John the baptize said about Jesus:
John 1:28 These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan,
where John was baptizing.
John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and
saith, “Behold the Lamb of God,” which taketh away the sin of the world.
John 1:32 “And John bare record,” saying, I saw the Spirit
descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him (Jesus).
John 1:33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize
with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit
descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy
Ghost.
John 1:34 And “I saw, and bare record that this is the Son
of God.”
John said that Jesus was the Son of God, not that he was God
as some of you say. Next is Peter one of Jesus disciples Peter said:
Matt 16:13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea
Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man
am?
Matt 16:14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the
Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
Who Jesus was, was a controversy even in his days, and we
know God is not the author of confusion. Therefore, all this confusion about
Jesus has to come from Satan.
Matt 16:15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
Matt 16:16 And Simon Peter answered and said, “Thou art the
Christ, the Son of the living God.”
Matt 16:17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art
thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my
Father which is in heaven.
Matt 16:18 And “I (Jesus) say also unto thee, That thou art
Peter, and upon this rock (foundation or principle) I will build my church;”
and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
God revealed Jesus was his Son to John the baptize by the
Spirit descending, and remaining on him. God also revealed it to Peter that this
was his Son and Jesus went on to tell Peter that on this principle, which was
that he was the Son of God, he would build his Church. Therefore, can you say
you are in a true Church if you build a Church on the pretense that Jesus was
God? When in fact the bible itself does not support such a belief. This is what
the men of God said about Jesus of with whom some of you disagree with, funny
thing is none of you or your preachers names are in the bible. Now what did God
say about Jesus:
Matt 3:16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up
straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he
saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
Matt 3:17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, “This is my
beloved Son,” in whom I (God) am well pleased.
Mark 1:9 And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came
from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan.
Mark 1:10 And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw
the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him:
Mark 1:11 And there came a voice from heaven, saying, “Thou
art my beloved Son,” in whom I (God) am well pleased.
Luke 1:21 Now when all the people were baptized, it came to
pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened,
Luke 1:22 And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape
like a dove upon him, “and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my
beloved Son; in thee I (God) am well pleased.”
Now we have the witness of God saying Jesus is his Son as
well as God’s men, and some of you all still disagreeing about Jesus being the
Son God, you twist the Scripture to your own destruction trying to make Jesus
God.
1 John 5:10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the
witness in himself: “he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he
believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.”
Therefore, for you to reject Jesus as the Son of God is for you
to reject God and call him a liar.
